Michael J. Ryan, Ph.D., Of Counsel
(Patent Attorney; Chemistry; Biotechnology; Pharmaceuticals) Prior to his legal career, Michael Ryan held a number of research positions within the pharmaceutical industry. He is an inventor on eight U.S. patents and has authored numerous publications in various areas of biotechnology. Michael has expertise in intellectual property matters involving a wide variety of technical subjects including low molecular weight compounds, chemical and biocatalytic processes, and therapeutic proteins. He focuses his practice on counseling clients in the biotechnology, chemistry, and pharmaceutical areas with respect to patent prosecution and portfolio management. He has also been involved in patent interference proceedings before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences of the USPTO, as well as opposition proceedings in the European Patent Office.
